    DV Chatter?

    Hi All,

Just had a VXR Turbo fitted, & now I have the chatter noise emitting from the DV I think.

If I accelerate, then ease off, I get the whoosh noise, then chatter immediately after.

I have a Bailey's DV 26 I think (was on the car when I bought it).
I have checked the vacuum pipes & the only one I can think of is the one that comes from directly underneath the the dv.

Without taking off the boost pipe & dv in one, it will be hard to get that pipe back on if I remove it.
I am also not sure if that pipe is held on with a hose clip, as it feels as if there is something on the edge of the pipe.

    Any other thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks all,

    Pete

as danny has said! it will stay shut! i did this with mine untill i got a new pipe! the vxr blower is more prone to compressor stall than the zlet one. just undo the vac pipe and reconnect it without the bailey!

    Hi Danny.

I could mate, but I like the Bailey's DV sound.

I think I will have to take the boost pipe & dv off & look at that pipe.

Maybe revert back to the oe dv to see if the noise disappears.
Then I will know if it is the Bailey's dv, or the turbo.

Well, it goes into a t-piece.
The left turn goes to a boost gauge inside the car on the pillar, the other goes down to another t-piece near bottom rear of engine.
I can't see much from there, but one of those junctions seems to come up to the oe dv, the other i'm not sure of because I can't see where it goes.

I'll try & have a better look tomorrow.

    Thanks

Where would the other pipe go that I can't see?

Would it be the bcs, or manifold?
It seems to go to the back of the engine somewhere, but can't get my hands round there to trace it, & can't see it either.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Pete
