Bit of a dumb question i guess but....

i have been asking alot of questions recently and apologise but the main reason is..

Basically i have just bought a new astra sporthatch in black had it a couple of months now and as everyone probably thinks they always want it to be shiny.

i have been reading alot in this section about what to buy and how to use and the conclusion i have come to for products is:

Megs Nxt Generation car wash shampoo
    AG srp
    Petes 53 wax

is this ok (i havent the biggest budget mind)?

i also have some chem guys mirror finish and butternut wax on the shelf would this be good to use in between the srp and petes 53?

another question i seem confused on what is the best way to wash the car(i know it sounds stupid but if i dont ask ill never know)

i assumed it would be :-

    wash
    polish
    wax

but looking on here it seems to be:-
    wash
    polish
wash (will this second wash take the polish back off?)
    wax

    what is best?

sorry about all the querys im very curious to find out what is best.
    any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

wash wise there is a vid guide of how to do it.

    with what you have

    Wash
    Polish
    CG WMF
    Wax

no need to wash after polishing. and washing wont remove polish as its abrasive to protective and polish doesnt leave anything on the surface it just brightens it.

Autoglym shampoo is awful IMO, I use it to make lubricant for claying but wouldn't use it as a shampoo. The Meguairs NXT or Goldclass are both much better.

    megs is the better one.

what you have chosen is good but all i would add to that is Clay.

i have thought about the clay.
is it alot of work i know im sounding lazy but i can see it going very wrong
watched a couple of videos and seen about keeping the surface wet and making sure its clean ill probably get a stone in it and it will look worse lol

    Rob1989,

The Clay bar is easy - I bought a Meguiars kit today and gave it a go for the first time. I was amazed at the results. It's not tricky or particularly hard work.

Go on - you know you want to!!!!

    Regards
