All my mods so far...mini auto-bio

Got this car last september, parents had it and neglected it like hell, was a right mess. Covered in scratches inside and out, bulbs blown everywhere, all plastics faded and scratched, wheels filthy, you get the idea.

Not liking driving round in a heap, I decided to sort it out, painting and repairing as I went along. Here is a list of the things I have done, bearing in mind that I drive an LS and some of the things done come as standard on other models...

---Coupe headlights with Philips Xtreme H7 bulbs (can't see difference in daylight, not seen at night yet
---Smoked rear lights (used savage tint spray, 1 can did both lights)
---Painted exterior plastics (never was colour coded, so went with black. Can't get rear bumper off! )
---Painted wheels (were silver steel, looks awful with or without trims, so got painting yesterday, still unsure on these)
---Colour coded all centre console (velvet green from above MFD to under handbrake)
---Painted side heater vents velvet green and front grab handles gloss black, these were scratched to hell!)
---Green LEDs in MFD and dials, got window switches and headlight switch in green LED en route
    ---Colour coded wing mirror caps

Still things I want to do, I'm trying to keep it away from tacky territory without spending a fortune. Any suggestions or opinions, especially on the wheels, are very appreciated

He he, didn't realise this had been moved to the auto-bio section!

Just decided what I'm going to do to get around the wheel centre caps looking so bright - just copy it elsewhere! Was going to paint handles all black, but if I just paint the outside of the handle black, and then the bit you actually grab silver, it should replicate the effect the wheels have. And while I'm at it, might just whip over the 'LS' on the bumpstrips in silver. Although not sure why anybody would want to highlight *that* fact!!!

Also need to decide what to do about the paintwork, heard a lot of different things about t-cut, even the one desgined for metallics. Might just go with the machine polish if I think it will get most of the defects out.

As usual will gets pics up soon as the mods are done then everybody can have a good nosey at them

went against the idea of machine polish, decided to do it by hand instead. Paintwork is far worse than I realised, and a lot of defects have remained. Ah well!

Clayed the entire car, and was amazed just how much crap came off the car. Then used megs deep crystal polish and wax and this brought up a lovely deep shine. Looking good and ready for new handles.

Got a spare set from greenmini (thanks!) and got these painted up. Went with black surrounds and silver grabby bits to match my wheels.

What a bloody pain to fit. I never have the right tools, didnt have a socket screwdriver effort to remove the housing plates from the back, so had to settle for pliers instead. Not the easiest of jobs, I'm sure the human arm isn't meant to bend like mine did this afternoon! Also kept dropping the pin into the door cavity, then used camera on phone to see where it had fallen to then.....dropped phone in door cavity! Arrrrrrgh!

Took about 3hours to fit, sunburnt to hell but am happy with results!

Below are a few pics of the job...

Wanted to make the handles match these wheels

Finally the finished job, looks good with the wheels I think. You either like both or neither, I don't think there's a middle ground on this one!
