Removing Cv from driveshaft (let) Help!

Just in the process of replacing the inner boot on my drive shaft, got the ds out and removed the boot off the cv but cant work out how to get the cv off the ds

In the Haines manual it says to open the retaining clips but they dont seem to be present on the cv? i recon the retaining clip probibly isnt present on this drive shaft as the manual isnt for this model of engine so how do i get it out???

Its tucked in the housing of the joint! There's a tiny lip on the inner edge and thats your retaining clip! It comes out pretty easy.

ive got it infront of me, all i can see is like a star housing with the bearings in and a rim aroun the middle, none of the teeth of the ds are visible, they are right in the cv, there is a gap shown in the star shaped housin in haynes where the clip can be accessed but mine is solid all the way around, no place for a clip or to access one!

The clip is not on the CV joint. It is on the driveshaft.

If you hold the drive shaft so the cv joint you ant to remove is at the top. Clean all the grease off it. You should see the clip on the drive shaft above the cv joint ie holding the CV onto the shaft

i'm starting to wonder if the retaining clip wasnt fitted before and now the shaft has slipped all the way into the cv because there is no clip on the shaft at all.

It may be an internal clip, smack the internal CV housing with a dead blow hammer and it should knock off.

That's what my old shaft was like any way
