    Astra Coupe & Claybar Virgin!

Finally got around to giving her a good going over with the clay bar today

    1st thing this morning (approx 7am) -

Gave her a good rinse, and then a wash with Meg's wash

Then to the claybar'in (megs quik detailer set) - and she was filthy - it was disgusting - the clay quickly went from a bright white/grey to a dodgy brown!!

It amazing - I was a clay virgin and am well impressed mind! Altho I do have a ton more scrathes than I originally thought, that dirt/grime were hiding! lol! hey-ho!

Then went over with the megs cleaner wax, then gold class polish, then megs detailer on that -

Waxed and polished the wheels - thankless task as the previous owner used to gauge closeness to the curb by the grinding sound by the looks of them - so im after a set of original turbo wheels

and finally with my plates finally on!

Rather proud even if i do say so myself! lol!

    Comments welcome

Did you take the spoiler off, or was that the previous owner?

    Hi x5tuu,

Astra's looking great. I love the Europa Blue colour, I used to have a SE2 Coupe in that colour and it always looked brilliant. I have never used the clay bar before, but it looks like it's done a good job on yours. If the clay bars pull all the muck out of the paint does there come a time when you can't use them anymore (because they're full of muck)?

Anyway - good work - time to put your feet up and have a beer while you enjoy the fruits of your labour (assuming it's still sunny and dry where you are)!!

    Regards,
    John P.

    Cheers

npd - the spoiler was cracked right thru and held together with gaffer tape so it is currently curing before I sand and repaint where its repaired - cant wait to get it back on tho!

johns 2 - the pack of clay bar i got had to squares of it, so i spilt on of the squares in half and used that but kept remoulding to ensure it was a clean surface all the time - and binned it when i was done - when i do it again in the future it should be whole lot less dirty and not necessitate binning i would imagine - you can by the feel tho as it starts to get gritty

the sun is almost cracking the pavements here so I am indeed sitting back now lol!

    Cheers guys
