    2005 manual won't start

My 2005 1.6 Essentia (South Africa) won't start (done 108,000km). After a couple of short trips in the morning I could unlock the car, the info computer lit up, but turning the key had absolutely no effect. Went through process a few times until eventually the remote will not open of close the doors. The indicator lights both flash (not the indicators though) and the computer start tuning the radio and simply blinks when I turn the key all the way in the ignition.

I had it towed and the dealer will only look at it later today.

Any ideas before they try and shaft me?

ps. Had anyone else broken off the stupid seat height adjustment lever... have one on order. Apart from that I've had 4 trouble free years

    Solved (I hope)

Dealer says it's just a dead battery. I suppose 4 years service from the original battery isn't too bad days...

Lets hope its not your alternator thats died and is subsiquently not charging your battery! I've just been told mines died and I'm looking at a bill of around £400, perhaps more.
