    mk4 888 which engine oil should i use?

    hey all just wondered which oil i should use for my engine i have 888 mk4
    needs a lil top up.

    The same as whats already in it mate, as not best to mix them.

    Easier to do a full change if your not sure. If using Vauxhall oil either 5w/30 full synthetic, or 10w/40 semi synthetic.

    ifs Fine to mix the oil
    me I would bung 10w40 in the car no probs at all

    cheers for the replies guys ill have a look through my old receipts see if i can find what has been put in it and go from there

    just bung any oil in for a bit its fine to mix but do a oil change soon as its only £20 to do a oil change DIY an dead easy

    i use 10w/50 vaux ss, change every 4k, and its cheap as chips via trade club

    I agree VX 10/40w semi synth. thats what the car had in it when it left the production line and as said cheap

    Would have probably had 5w/30 in originally as thats what Vauxhall normally use when servicing. I prefer 10w/40 though, other stuff is just too thin.

    mine has 5w30 in which vxl put in on its last service. tempted to put 10w40 in as its a lot cheaper.
