Thumbs Up GSI VXR Conversion Complete

Although i have been on the site for years i have never posted pictures just looked at the other great posts and pics, anyway i have just finished a VXR engine and box into my GSI along with a quaife LSD recently and thought i would post some pics up of the project.

Just pulled out the Z20 LET and box with the help of kronenberg and my mechanical dab hand mate Chris

Standing the wrong side of the slam panel

Picking up the VXR engine and box from G man (Gareth's) house

One of Gareths mint mk 5 vans

Cleaned up and hammerited sub frame/wishbones

poily bushes and new ball joints added

quaife diff going onto the crown wheel after removal of oe weak one

Engine, new ARB and steering rack on sub frame ready for fitment and then going into the car

All now in and car complete

Spec as the car stands now:

    Engine:
VXR engine and 6 speed box
    Quaife LSD
VXR turbo and courtenay uprated actuator
    VXR injectors
    VXR 80mm AFM
    Custom intercooler and piping
    Dbilas Exhaust manifold
    Courtenay sport enlarged top hat
    BMC air filter
    Dbilas large intake
Piper full 3" exhaust & performance cat
    Cooler running thermostat
    CS4 map 299.74bhp & 360lbft

    Suspension:
    Eibach springs and bilstein shocks
    Whiteline anti roll bars
    Poly bushes/caster adjustment

    Wheels/Brakes:
    Compomotive MO 18's
Brembo 4 pot calipers and Astra VXR 322 EBC drilled and grooved discs up front
Astra VXR 278mm EBC drilled and grooved discs at the rear
    Yellowstuff pads all round
    Braided hoses all round

All i can say about the transplant is money very well spent, the 6 speed box accelerates much quicker and smoother and the Quaife LSd is unbelivable, even with nearly 300 bhp you can plant you foot in 1st/2nd gear and have no speed loosing wheelspin and loads more grip out of corners, its an amazing piece of kit.

Next stop respray of front bonnet/bumper next week and then into courtenays on the 26th of June for power tweaking and to have the 80mm AFM mapped in. - NOW COMPLETE 299.74bhp & 360lbft

I would like to thank G Man (Gareth) for getting me the engine/box and being a valuable voice of experience on the end of the phone, and for letting me test drive his VXR powered mk5 van , my mate Chris for all his help with the conversion, and not to forget the misses for putting up with me being in the garage for the last 3 weekends.

No need to thank me i got what i wanted for it, well what i was prepared to take. The 5-6000 miles i did in it were all motorway miles so you've got no drama's from my end.
