help - power steering pump whine through subs

as above, when engine is running, my power steering pump is amplified through my amp and subs, whats can i use to cure this

If you suggest a ground loop, ibe got one, but every time i plug it into my RCA's, it stops all noises including sounds, so i tried another as well, same thing happens, do i have to change settings on the amp?

    Thanks.

the power steering pump wiring is pretty much seperate from everything else, are you sure its not just a noisy power steering pump? is it deffinately interference?

you could take the power steering fuse out and see if it stops? its one of the big ones in the engine bay.

which way have you routed the amp positive through the engine bay?

its deffinatly being amplified by my subs, ive tried engine on/off, and its only there when engine running, even with no music playing, my positive comes straight from the battery litterally straight back through the baulk head, then pass glove box and into the car.

thats exactly the same way I've ran the power lead.

I dont understand how your having problems when I dont.

What gauge wire have you used? Is the remote lead on the same side as the power?

Mine did this - drove me nuts. Then I tried a better quality RCA lead and all was fixed. I had interference on the components (decent RCA) from the sub (cheapy RCA). If I disconnected the sub RCA the interference went away. £10 on a better shielder RCA and all has been well ever since.

I could be wrong, and im sure someone will correct me if i am, but the remote lead generally carries about 9v or above, and just provides an "high" signal, so it might have been better to route it with the power leads, instead of the RCA leads to reduce interference further
