    Subwoofer Wiring [2nd Attempt]

    Hey Guys,

My previous Astra I kitted it all out with ICE, unfortunately it was written off, but I've jsut bought a new one

Now, I'm going to re-wire my subwoofers at the weekend as I managed to recover them.

Before, I ran my sub power cables down the passenger side of the car, and drilled a hole to get the cable through, I've heard there is already a grommet on the drivers side, Which I am going to try instead. Where abouts is it? and is it big enough for 4AWG wiring?

Also... Has anyone used 0AWG or 2AWG in an astra? Will it fit? I know 4AWG was a big enough struggle! But i suffered from dimming lights on my rpevious sound system, so I am considering using 0AWG to try reduce the dimming?

Anyways, any help would be much appreciated
The subwoofers are Alpine R-Types btw

    Thanks,
    Dean

i have 4awg running through my astra. live wire is going through my passenger arch. 0awg would not fit at all. with regards to your lights dimming thatsbecause your demanding too much anyway. try upgraded battery and alternator. with two Type R's it shouldnt be a HUGE power hungry system but after a few months you will see the affects

    I did have 2 12" R-Types, and Full R-tyope speakers all around powered by a 4.100 Amp
I only had the system in for a month before the crash

What do you mean by "after a few months you will see the affects"??

If you have a electronic throttle then there's a spare grommet on the drivers side.

Ok, well i'm debating whether or not to install all my ICE again, i really want to, it's just i did it to perfection before, and spent a good few days at it!
Did a lot of running back and forth, getting clips for the door cards that snapped, grommets, drilling through the door etc. etc.
Just don't know if I have the time or motivation to do it again!
    Would really like to tho

    Cheers Pal,
I still have some trim clips from when i did my other astra sound system somewhere... just so much time and effort went into my prvious car I dont know if I can be bothered to do it again

Might just pay my local car audio retailer to fit it all, but I worry that I will only get a half-arsed job from them, as my dad's SRi was bodged up to F-

Had a look in my engine bay, and can't find this grommet :|
If I'm looking at my engine bay from the front, (so the abttery is on the right hand side, and the airbox is on the left)
Where abouts should the grommet be?
    Any pics?
    Cheers
