I had a doctors appointment today at 4.10pm.
Usually, I would finish work at 3pm on a Friday, straight down the M3 and I should arrive home about 3.40pm. However, today at 2pm my manager said their was an accident on the M3 and it is most likely to be shut until 5pm. I did not want to be late for the appointment, so I asked if I can leave earlier. I left work at 2.15pm and thought I should have plenty of time and if I took the A30, their should not be a problem.
I was wrong
The traffic was worse on the A30. So, at 3.15pm I called me mom and asked her to give the doc a call to let them know that I will be a little late, as I did not have the surgery's number on me. The surgery said it was fine, cool.
Unfortunately, I arrived 15 mins late at the surgery. Walked up to the reception to book in and was greeted by a grumpy woman "Mr **** you are very late". I tried to explain that my mother did call them in advance, but she did not seem to believe me.
I felt bad being late, but their was nothing I could have done.
Sods law and its damn annoying
