    Knocking noise

I know I'm not providing much information here, but just on the off chance that someone may know of a cause I thought I'd try my luck.

Recently, at low speeds I have noticed a knocking noise that seems to be coming from either the wheels or steering maybe. I can only hear it at low speeds but may well happen at higher speeds just cannot hear it.

Anyone have any rough ideas what this may be?!?!?!

    **fingers crossed** lol

On smooth roads? or only on rough ones? More when cornering or does it do it in a straight line too?

Pretty much all the time. I was thinking maybe something was loose and bumps in the road was causing it, but I sounds and feels (maybe psychologically) as if its coming from the wheels/steering???

Possibly your front drop links (stablisers) have worn. Quite a common problem. Ive been through 2 sets already since owning my car. Easy to replace just 2 nuts. Should then cure the knocking.

Is that the sort of thing a kwik-fit could do? I'm off to one in the morning to get my cat replaced. (assuming Vauxhall have some drop links in stock).

Is it easy for me to find out if the problem is the drop links, where are they etc.. **sorry for being thick**

Easy job mate. As andy says wheels off undo the two nuts on the drop link which is a black plastic bar attached to the front shock, replace with new ones and away you go.
Think they are about £18 each for GM ones or £11 each for third party ones. I used QH ones but found they worn to quickly so will be using GM next time.
