Where do i stand in this scenario?

Well iv now realised that selling my Astra for a Honda Civic was the biggest mistake iv made so far.

2 Months down the line and im told the car needs completly rewiring as all the wiring for the ecu and engine have corroded. (its a common fault but not recall worthy!) Which means the fan's on constantly and the engine isnt getting up to heat, but im told the car is ok to run on short journeys at the moment. Ie to and from work.

Now my problem begins because after a phone call today im told the parts should be in by the end of August! However im driving to Italy (supposedly in the civic) at the end of July. So far Honda have told me that there unsure whether the car would be ok over that sort of mileage in that timescale (3000 miles in a fortnight) and havent got a solution of anykind.

Surely they cant just wash their hands of this situation as it's there product which has put me in this predicament?

Where did you buy it, who from and when?

What kind of warranty did you get with it?

THe car was bought from a private garage but the car still has its remaining Honda warranty on it until October this year.

So i know its not directly there fault but surely there responsible to repair it in a reasonable time under the manufacturer warranty?

Sorry to hear that mate. When did the problems start, as you seem pleased with it at the RR day?

    Honda should fix it IMO.

If they refuse, then get onto the Trading Standards.

About 3 weeks ago. First signs were it cutting out and all the warning lights coming on. Its a shame because i had started o really like the car but this whole scenario has ruined it. Getting rid of it at the end of the year now with any luck.

They are going to be replacing the parts but not in time for the car to be ok to drive to Italy.

I apologise if my first post didnt make much sense.

Iv tried but all i get is techno jargon down the phone about it being unavailable due to financial cut backs within the Honda group. So i now assume that Honda only make spare parts when needed and dont keep in a stockpile.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Do Honda have to provide me with a car if mine isnt up to the job to drive to Italy?
