    Calling all high mileage drivers

Im just wondering what servicing/maintenance the other daily/weekly/monthly high mileage astra diesel drivers get done. Mine is a 04 1.7cdti.

Since March of this year ive had to do a lot more miles on my car. Ive been doing abt 800/wk.

I bought my car last sep with 39,000miles on the clock. I got my car serviced in feb at the same time as the mot; oil-oil fliter and fuel filter changed (43,000), and ive now clocked up 7000miles since then (50,000). Previously I was doing abt 1000/mth. I should be doing 1000/mth again from next wk onwards again.

I am thinking i would need to service it again at 53,000 which is around 10,000miles since the last service, probably just getting oil and oil filter changed. I am thinking of getting the cambelt change etc done at 60,000miles (does this seem ok?).

I know the service book for the astra g says 20,000miles or once/yr which ever is sooner, but some have said to me they wouldnt wait until 20,000 and rather get it done earlier.

I always treat my car well and adopt the attitude if I take care of it, it'll take care of me.

She gets her oil and filter changed every 5k and all the filters changed 10k. Since I've owned the car, that means 5 oil changes have been done and 2 complete filter changes.

Oil & filter every 5k, Pipercross air filter gets cleaned about once a year, fuel filter about every 50K (just done for 2nd time @ 96K), got new glow plugs @ about 80K. Fitted uprated discs & pads about 20-25K ago so they're still good.

im a courier and my 52 astra y20dth has done 220.000 miles.it gets an forte oil flush and a oil change with lucas oil and fuel and air filter every month. im doing 2000 a week some weeks and its never missed a beat.i steam the engine once a month to check for leaks of any type oil or such.i have noticed the difference if you use genuine vx filters.also i recently had my egr cleaned out has helped with the smoke out the exhaust bigtime.

My 54 plate 1.7cdti roughly does around 38-40k a year driving for work. Change oil with GM approved fully synth every 10 k and also tend to do air and fuel at the same time. Had the cambelt done at 60k each time its been done. Cars still running as good as the day i got it.
