    Crank Sensor

    Hi All,

In Dec. last year I had the spanner light going on & off on my Y reg. 2001 Astra 1.7DTI. I took it to a diagnostic centre where they came up with code 0335....Crank Sensor. So I bought a crank sensor from AutoVaux and after the usual struggle fitted it, the spanner light went out & every thing was fine.......until April this year when the good old spanner light started going on & off again. I disconnected the battery for half an hour to wipe the memory then drove the car until the spanner light came on then carried out the brake pedal test & code 0335 came up again, crank sensor.
Now guys what I want to know is the crank sensor purchased from AutoVaux a cheap imitation of the sensor or is it exactly the same one as I could get from the dealer for twice the price?
As I did not enjoy fitting the sensor I would be prepared to pay the dealers price if it was a better quality sensor than than the one I got from AutoVaux.
    Thanks for your help.
(Incidently I am not knocking AutoVaux as their service was very prompt.)

I always use Autovaux and cannot fault them, they will tell you if its genuine vauxhall part or not.
I once bought a crank sensor from them for a 1.7 dti and never had a problem with it.
They are a bit fiddley to do.
Contact Autovaux they should give you a replacement,
