    beesting ariel

My ariel is missing its mast - just the base left.
I bought a replacement mast from Halfords which is threaded but it isnt screwing in.

How does one remove the base? Is it stuck down, or what - I don't want to force it!

    Thanks in advance!

The base is bolted on from the inside, the headlining has to be dropped down to remove it. I have a Halfords mast and it came with a couple of different threaded bits for different bases

    Hi Hillno.7,

I don't suppose you have a piccy of the honda civic type r stubby aerial fitted? oh, and ebay link for aerial?

I need to change the aerial base as mine has perished, and have heard about fitting a honda civic type r stubby aerial as an alternative.

@davemk4coupe - you are probably already aware but there is a how-to on the mk4 aerial.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Right, an update. I ended up selling my Halfords mast to my brother because it fitted his mk4 SRi hatch just fine and his old one was looking worse for wear.
DCDave, thanks for the link. That ariel base is the same as my brothers.
However, not sure what to do on my coupe. The base is different - can't see any thread at all. Guess I'll have to go to Vaux...
