    led footwells

    hello all

    i know i have been ranting on about it but tomorrow i want to put my leds into my footwells. i bought a switch an the led strips an have wire! i have a 3 way switch, just woundered if any one could draw me a circut a basic one i would understand using symbols i could reconise.

    basicaly i want to make it so the leds light up when i open the door an turn off when i close it just the same as the interior light and also so i can switch them on when i am in the car too as a on/off

    please help me lol many thanks for readin my prob

    No it's not a kit I just went to a place called maplin an bought some LEDs an aswitch and some wire, any help??

    That circuit won't work, you need to wire the LED's the other way round, like this

    HEP your a * mate thank you so much. only one question when u said "run this wire to the nearest earth point" what does that mean?? also is it hard to access the interor light? to hide the wires?

    to hide the wires to the interior light you will have to run the wire behind the dashboard, you should be able to find the interior light wire near either the left or right a pillar.

    there are several earth points dotted around the car, they are, usually brown, wires that are attached to the metal body of the car with a bolt, crimp a ring terminal to the end of that wire and attach it to the earth point.

    theres an earth point in the drivers footwell underneath the kick panel.

    and as sq man has pointed out make sure your leds are the right way round or they won't work!

    ok m8 ill make sure ill do that, what does "SPLICE" the wire mean??

    splice means attach the two wires to each other, i recomend either crimping or soldering
