    Welcome mate

the first 4 digits are the fault code the last 2 are the value so your codes 1481:

P1481 fan control circuit open 1 engine cooling B-004
1 fan P1481 control circuit voltage engine cooling too large B-004
1 fan P1481 control circuit voltage too small engine cooling B-004

Now i'm no expert on this but it looks like a rad fan problem, maybe it has dirty connectors and the computer thought it was unplugged at some point?

The light should reset from disconecting the battery for half hour or so if the problem isn't there next time

Just look for the fan between the rad and engine and find the wiring going to it

Is the car under warrenty still then? If so get it into vauxhall asap

If it has service history then it may still be under warrenty as are covered for 3 years/ 60000 miles I think

The fact your about to have your first MOT (think thats what you meant above) means it's under this age

Doesn't matter that your the 2nd owner as mine went in under warrenty and I was in the same situation as you. Only issue you may have is with the service history but you have nothing to loose

Hang on a minute, first MOT and it's a 05 car? This should be having it's 2nd MOT now as it's 4 years old and out of warrenty

nope in ireland you dont have to get your car nct'd(mot) untill its 4 years old. then it has to be done every 2 years after that.

Fair enough. Guess the warrenty will still be 3 years like here so you'll juat have to check the plugs as I first said and disconect the battery to try and clear the code
