Sounds awfully cheap for a 2.2 I'd say... Depends how it is mechanically I suppose

That would sugest to me that it's had a very hard life! also the accident damage! How bad was it!
Personally I would walk away from it!

    What/where was the damage?

As I always say, there are no 3 words that strike more fear into me than 'investigate previous repairs'.

I would inspect very carefully the repairs carried out.

Saying that, the biggest prob with previously written-off cars is selling them on again.

If that doesnt bother you, perhaps you have a bargain!

£550 is a very good price if the car is in good condition and the repairs have been done to a high standard.

A timing chain isn't cheap to replace though, unless you can do it yourself.

sounds good if the cars in good nick, but i'd stay away as the car may turn into a money pit if things start going wrong, if its a first car, check your insurance too

post pics on here and members can usually pick out things that look suspicious.

yes you can turbo it or supercharge it, but turbo'ing that lump would cost you in the region of 3k
