    Cat and Fiddle

Don't know if you guys have been on a meet up here before so thought i'd put it out there.

For those who don't know the cat and fiddle is a pub on the Macclesfield to Buxton road the A537. It's claimed to be the highest pub in England.

I drive over the cat and fiddle at least twice a week for work and even though i'm in a Vivaro i enjoy the drive every time. There's also plenty of other A roads which go over the top which are great for testing your skills and far less policed!!
Would be nice to have a good drive about and a nice cold beverage after.
I suppose it will be late June or early July because of PVS.

    So would anyone be interested???

I'm pretty sure the highest pub in England is the Tan Hill Inn, but the Cat's a good road and a decent pub, even so.

To be honest you can't really speed up there anyway due to the amount of old people who go for a day out plus its really twisty so hitting the speed limit isn't alway possible (unless your on a bike)
Like you say police are a problem on the main cat and fiddle and i've heard about this plane but i've never seen it and i go up there quite alot and work around there so am local everyday.
Saying that if your not breaking the law you have nothing to worry about.

It's still a good day out though with amazing views and plenty of other quieter roads.

I used to work in the area around the Cat, and the plane is up at weekends. It's a Brittan Norman Islander, and very distinctive when you know what you're looking for

The bikers knows that when it goes back to Manchester Airport to refuel, they have XXX minutes before it gets back on station, so for that short period they go loopy.

Excellent road, and best driven in the Mac to Buxton direction.
