    Fitting springs near Southampton

Should be ordering some Jamex -40mm lowering springs soon. Does anyone know roughly how much a garage around here would charge to fit these for me? Or can anyone near help me out?

    Thanks

A garage will charge about £100+ to fit them.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

    Where in Southampton are you?

I might be able to get my brother in law to fit them but not sure what he would charge.

Guessing he's a mechanic or something? Or just knows what he's doing..

SO53 1ER, not exactly southampton but on the outskirts. If he could, would you mind asking what he'd charge just out of interest? Slight chance i'd get shocks as well as springs but depends on funds at the time. If so would he be able to fit both possibly? Again depends if he could and how much he'd want.

    Cheers
    Sam

Yeah he's a mechanic but would be doing it from home. Said he would do it for £100.

And as Locko said its only a few extra bolts (On the rear) to do shocks so price would be the same.

Rather than getting Jamex springs why not get the raceline coilovers from ebay for £150 so you can set it to what height you want?

Ah ok cool i'll think about that. Yeah i looked at those but they're not such a well known brand so wasn't sure about it. Also i've read quite a few thread on them either sending the wrong ones (e.g 2 front n/s shocks) or people having problems with them creaking etc. which put me off them really.

EDIT: Just noticed the 2 year warranty on the racelands... now i'm quite tempted. Not sure which to go with though. How easy is it to adjest the racelands? Is it simple as jack up car, remove wheel and tighten/loosen something? Which would you recommend for me? I quite like the idea of being adjustable as i may want it lower than 40mm in a few months time.

Yeah just jack it up, take the wheel off and wind the bottom lock ring down, then the top lock ring (Just above the first lock ring) and wind it down to set it to the height you want.
