    Engine Control Module (ECM)

    Hi There

A newbie Here. Any Advice greatly apreciated.

My brother has a v reg 1.6 (G) engine. Recently when the engine got hot the car developed a slight miss, when cold it was ok, the dash electrics were also going a bit wonky....

Anyway the ECM went away to be repaired and it was suggested that the ECM has been 'Fried'.. It was suggested to check the wiring to ensure that nothing untowards was happening..

Where can I find out what type of signal each pin should be presenting to the ECM (ie 12V,Ohms etc). I am familiar with where the signal are coming from/going to just not sure what is NORMAL.

Hi ya welcome to the site,

That's quite a big job, if you know what component/sensor every pin represents then you're half way there.

Can't you pull it off the webb? or Autosparks might be able to help on this one.

    Dave
