Will a de-cat go through mot

Hi there, just a matter of interest, would a full miltek system with de-cat and racing 4-1manifold not pass an mot. How much (if even possible) would it cost to add a catalyc converter?

    Any help would be ace?

Depends where you take it for a test and how scrupulous your MOT tester is

However, as its a mod that is *technically* illegal, the question of whether your car is therefore covered by your insurance policy is a whole new grey area....

would help if u told us what car it was on!

a sports cat can be had for £100 or a standard cat for quite a bit less depending on engine etc

technically speaking a cat is NOT a legal requirement for petrol cars after K/92 but 9/10 times the only way it reaches expected emissions is by means of a cat so in practice its likely a decat would fail .

let us know more actual details on the car in question then we can help u further

well in that case id advise fitting a sports cat - all the benefits of a decat but retain the legality issues

or find a friendly mot tester and watch out for those lardy arsed geezers in the VOSA land cruisers........
