    paint mismatch

hi all, jst bought a flame red 1.8 sri with prodrive bumper. the thing is the front and back bumpers are a brighter red than the car, could this be down to the person whos sprayed it has done a shitty job or which is what im thinking is that the car was stood for a few months before i bought it, i gave it a good clean and polish but could maybe do with a good old buffer to make it a bit brighter.??

It is normal. The car is not laqured but the bumpers are. So car fades but bumpers dont. Thats if they standard fit anyway

Isealy you need to machine polish the car. But you could try spending a day the some AG SRP to try a cut the paint back a bit

thats what i used lol to polish the car, i used it as though i was t-cutting it, i left each area i polished about ten mins before removing the residue, ive been told that when you machine buff a car it can actually show more scrathes that before buffing it, all i want is the car to look bright red all the way round

i paint cars for a living and would just like to say, the bumpers on nearly all cars wont match the rest of the body cos their different materials, they should be only slightly darker, if the body wont machine buff up then the bumpers will probably need painting again. hope this helps, feel free to pm me if you want more info
