    whats your budget?
you've got a few options, do a 5 stud conversion and fit the gsi front and rear discs, you will have to get different wheels though, but its the easiest to source parts from.
do a four stud vauxhall meriva conversion, can keep your wheels but not as easy to source the parts.
buy uprated parts for the setup that you currently have, not as good as it would mean keeping the rear drums.
or buy a big brake kit from a tuners. expensive but better than everything else.
do a search for 5 stud conversion/4 stud conversion for more info.

    leave the drums

uprate the fronts to either 4 stud 280mm or 4 stud 308mm

from someone who has actually done the 4 stud 280 setup (meriva one as mentioned above - but NOT rare or difficult one little bit) its what i would advise

no messing about with redrilling 308mm discs - 280s are avail in 4 stud from the factory - keep ur original wheels - fit under 15" wheels (smallest example) unlike the 308s which need 16s at least

all can be done for about £150 if ur wiling to go to a scrappies etc

£250 would get u a 308 kit but then you may need bigger wheels.....then if ur gettin wheels then maybe consider a 5stud upgrade!!

greenstuff with some mtec grooved discs would be a good setup

but the 4stud 256mm setup is shit to say the least - better than nothing tho lol

maybe some fresh fluid throughout and some braided hoses would be a good start (ive got some if u want them PM me)

maybe remove the calipers and give them a refurb with new seals

make the best of what u have

I have just replaced the front discs on my 1.8 and at the moment im not impressed so will probably put some better ones on the front

What would i need to get to put 280 on the front?

Failing that i might get some black diamond grooved and drilled discs for better performance?

280mm Meriva or Astra H CDTi 4-stud discs

Brake calipers, carriers pads and all the mounting and slider bolts from a 5-stud Astra G

    Hub carrier/Steering knuckle from a 5-stud Astra G

    Brake fluid and bleed kit

Torx and/or allen key socket bits and tools to do the job

    Have a read through this
