    Manual Fan Switch For Cooilng fan

    Hello i want to install a switch that i can turn my fan on/off manualy when im in traffic keep my engine cool i have installed the switch im at a loosened to where to attach my wires to and where engine 1.6 8v z16se i know it 8 v but its fast enuff for me and i like ot look after my car

    hi i have a 8v too,it only warms up in city y i dont no,just run the live to the oil temp to your switch,or run a live from batt to live on temp sensor by passing your switch!!!!

    new to elecs so un sure just a guess bud!!

    its a tricky 1 cuz i dnt no were all the sensers are i was finkin of running it straight from the fan but then agen all im doin really wud be joing the circuit back up with the switch.. see i type in google for help and google is just crap becuz it gives u nothing relevent to wat ur looking for


    i need a more clear detail how to do this thing i got a hole in my dash new switch is if i take it out i got a hole then so not takin it out

    yea run a live wire from batt to your switch then to the fan,that will give u control of wen its on or not instead of the oil temp sensor

    ok then where is the fan wire located on the fan it self or does it lead to any wear else and is it possible to scotch lock the connection im new to car electrics i just want it done right so sorry if i sound dumb

    well iv done it before on older cars tho,if u cut the live to the heat sensor it cant send to the fan to run,so if you replace this with a live from your switch then your in control,look on the fan should be to wires a live and ground,so just cut the live and run it to switch to fan,its worked for me in past on a few cars,but with all these sensors on astras look over were the sensor is........

    yea well like u say scotch wire the live at the fan from the switch with a constant live should run it without cutting out your cut in.try worse u could do is blow a fuse.

    my switch is blue led 1 i have from maplin there 4 connector and surely there is only 2 needed first of all i have +- postive negative yeh so the postive to the live where does the negetive go to ground or am i missing something.....

    leave - alone just tap in to live,wen use switch your adding the live instead of the sensor,-is consant,
