    Waterpump change !!!

    Just a bit of advice please,my gsi is going in for a service and cambelt change today,but im a bit concerned as i have asked them to change the waterpump to and they have said that it dosent need changing....the car has done 41k so any advice if the waterpump defo needs changing at this point when the cambelt is being done?

    its not really needed but for the cost of the water pump its worth doing as they have the camblet off and the last thing you want is for the water pump to fail and have to put a new cambelt and pay the labour costs again.

    As rizo said, the waterpump has a tendancy to fail, mine did at 37k

    Mine just started to get noisey at 52k. A week before the cam belt was going to be changed. And no i did not for get to do it at 40k It was done at 10k when the car was 4 years old.
