CD70 Testmode on / testmode off

    Hi Guys,

I've got a CD70 NAV thingy with the colour screen. I read somewhere on here that holding down "settings" would allow you to see things like the engine temperature.

Now i've held down settings, and it beeps (similar to the beep that you get when told to fasten your seatbelt on a plane) and states that testmode is on / testmode off, depending on whether it was on or not before.

But i've no idea what to do / what you can do in this test mode. Can anyone give me a heads up as to what i can do in this mode?

I've no real reason to be messing about in this menu, I'm just a nosey bugger!

    Cheers,

    Steve.

    I worked it out,

When you have test mode on, press BC (board computer) to scroll through the different output data - there's plenty of info!!

So case opened and closed by myself. - I wonder why I bothered posting it!!

    Hope it helps someone else!

Can anyone tell me what some of this information means??? The stuff I'm unsure about is in RED

I know this is the Hardware and Software and the rest is of no use, but what is Heat-St??

This is all to do with the dimming of the screen when the headlights are on and the voltage

This is the clock, why doesn't it set off the GPS? I've got sat nav, surely that would be more reliable? It was 2 hours out this morning and said it was set off the RDS - obviously lying to me!

Dist-RC is how many metres per second you're travelling at I think.
    Speed is obvious
Coolant is the coolant temp in the engine
Sensor is what the external temp sensor reads
Display is what temp it shows
No idea what all the ICE stuff is? Anyone help on that?

Inj-RC is how many ml/sec is being used
Range is how far you've left in the tank (in miles not in KM as it states)
What's all the TC and RC Stuff?
What is FCO, RFC and CSD?

This I believe is the Check Control Screen.
Does anyone know what any of this is, and does it mean I can have check control turned on, on my 2008 CDTi SRi?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Steve

Steve the ICE is probably for when you get the frost symbol on the screen around 3-4 degrees

Did you ever get more info?

FCO is "Fuel Cut Off" - it comes "on" (Sic) when you take your foot off the throttle, it means zero fuel is being injected on over-run (you'll see the injection rate go to zero ml/sec as well). This is when your "inst Consupt" goes to 999.99mpg. Really it means "infinite" as you are using NO petrol at all.

The "ICE" business means that (a) the system is confgured to warn you when it might be icy (i.e. outside temp goes below 3 degrees) and it *remembers* that you have clicked the button to clear the warning. This can be tested if you crash, so you can't say yuo didn't know it was icy, you clicked to say you did!! :-)
