    Engine Management Light Astra Van

My W reg 1.7 TDI Astra van has developed a fault in that it will travel for only 8 miles before the engine management light comes on and it goes into limp home mode. A non Vauxhall garage has told me that the fault is with the diesel fuel management system but i am not sure if this is right.

I do plan on taking it to a Vauxhall dealer but would like some ideas, i am hoping it is a lose connection or a re-set of the system but am really clutching at straws.

could be dry joints in the fueling ecu .. which I think can be a common problem...
