    Angry mooman

    hello all i have recentley been having alot of promblems with my astra coupe turbo .It all started a few months back when i was giving it sum changed into 4th the car then misfired and engine light came on.Checked all spark plugs and wiring seemed fine .It was still running ok apart from rough idling and over revving when it was warm and you came to a stop since this i have had a sports cat fitted and put a stainless steel pipe straight off the turbo to a fillter. The other day i read the codes and these were the ones i got 0170,1106,0300,0301 and i no these are to do with the map senseor and coil pack but does it meen they have gone the overrevving is pretty bad now can anyone help me please thanks .

    Sounds like the coil pack do you know anyone with the same engine could try theres in yours and see if it sorts it

    P0301 - cyclinder 1 missfire.
    P0300 - Random cyclinder missfire.
    P1106 - MAP (manifold absolute pressure) circuit fault
    P0170 - Fuel Trim bank 1 malfunction.

    defo worth a try of the coil pack, and also check all the hoses for any leaks.

    Do you have a boost gauge? if so what boost is it running?

    would it be ok to try your coil pack mate tommarow maybe if thats ok ?

    Check for coil pack and the spark plugs. Try get NGK iridium, they help allot with the missfires.

    It could be AFM or/and BCS
    The only way to be 100% certain that work has been done properly is to do it yourself.

    just to update this thread, i was around at mooman (adams) tonight to try the coil pack which made no difference at all!

    It sounded like the engine was off a pot on tick over but then the engine would pick the revs up to fast idle by its self which brings it back to firing on all cyclinders then drops the revs off and it starts missing again. and this just keeps on going on and on.

    Just thinking could it be a FPR playing up???
