    Engine Management light

My engine management light stays on when i first start my car when its coldand it takes longer to start, when i switch the engine off when its up to temperature, and switch back on again engine light goes out and full power is regained.
When the light is on there is a massive power loss.

    Can anyone help?

    Welcome mate

I can't give you the answer but I can point you in the right direction

Do a search on here for "the paper clip test" This will tell you how to read whatever fault codes may be bringing the engine managment light on

Thanks for the reply, had it put on diagnostics this morn seems to be problems with the ERG valve, and P0335 Crankshaft position sensor open circuit.
Dont suppose how much roughly a new sensor would cost?

    Thanks Chris

Took the time to clean my ERG valve today but didnt have any effect still causing trouble. Car still suffering a power loss, and looking at the crankshaft sensor, it looks quite recent, but somebody has broken the connector and superglued it together, and this i think is causing a problem, not sure if i want to fiddle with it incase i make it worse.
Can the crankshaft position sensor be deleted from the ECU? Or is it a bad idea?
    Im at my wits end
Any info would be much appreciated.

    Thanks chris

Thanks for the reply and the details.
Yeah that is my engine code, Im compentant enough to replace the egr valve. How difficult is the Crankshaft sensor other than the fiddly location? And would i have to have the EML reset after?

    Thanks in advance Chris
