    dan astra

when my astra gets hot and the fans ready to kick in my coolant/ aircon warning light comes on. and it goes into limp mode. the aircon is also not working and neither is the fan. plugged into tech 2 and says fan. so ive got a new aircon rad fan and fitted that and still no fan working. but when i press the aircon button to on the fan doesnt work. cant even sense the engine note changing.

    Air con clutch working ok?

I have the same problem and have been told aircon fan but not before he checked the whole aircon system first. Also the ECUs for the coolant module are apparently prone to acting up so if my fan doesnt work then thats next on the list

yes fuses ok. theres been no gas for ages but it hasnt put the light on. its strange how the light comes on when the engine gets hot and the main cooling fan kicks in.

I'm not aware of an 'air con warning light'?
There is a coolant light, but that wont be affected by anything on the air-con circuit. So, not a resolution to your original problem, but you wont hear any change in the engine when trying to turn on the air-con unless the system is gassed up

so really i have two problems. one is when the main cooling fan kicks in its putting the warning light on.

and two the aircon fan doesnt work. ive changed the fan and still not working.

should both fans run when the main fan kicks in?
