    engine problem, help!!

Bit confused with this one guys!!

Started my car today outside of the indian takeaway, car had been off after a ten min run for about 15min max.

Started her up and the idle is all over the place, its popping and revving up and down all on its own. Kind of feels like its dropped a cylinder but there is no engine management light or anything on?

Horrible to drive, best description would be lumpy!

Engine is a z18xe and has no mods.

Any idea what this might be? any help would be massivly appreciated

    Cheers

Take off the battery for 30mins reconnect and go for a drive. I'd pretty much agree though it could be a knackered AFM, I'd also suspect one of the lambda probes but usually this would bring up the emissions light. So therefore I'm still with the AFM. Sorry Paul not what you wanted to hear I bet.

By taking the battery off you should clear the ECU and make it relearn whats going on inside the engine. It should hopefully either clear it or cause it to give a fault code.

Wierd, my car did this yesterday (Z16XE though) and it took a good few minutes of running to settle down. No sign of it today though...
