    Diesel Turbo

hi all.. be gentle not into major tuning..

got the 1.7 cdti eco 4 2002 ( i THINK its the isuzu ). had it remapped and its much faster and running much better.. few weeks ago fuel pump went on the car. could that be linked?

other than that im used to the power and wanting a bit more.. just wondering which turbo and manifold would go straight on for a bit more power. its running around 110bhp atm and i heard from someone that the corsa 1.7cdti sxi turbo and manifold will fit straight on and that is 125bhp standard? is that right? and if not what could be done to make it faster with the least headache.

    thanx in advance

probably doesnt help much but i've heard the new corsa turbo is a straight swap too - its variable vane and adds about 25bhp...

doesnt sound too bad.. extra 25bhp and a remap on top.. might be able to squeeze 140bhp

    Hi,

Sorry, this isn't an answer to your query (because I'm a complete novice), but I have a question of my own regarding your predicament:

What were the symptoms of your fuel pump failure?

And how much did it cost you in the end?

I'm just curious because my Eco4 recently died on me and the guy from the AA reckoned it was the fuel pump. My mechanic suggested the fuel pump as well, however he diagnosed it as a dead ECU in the end.

i was towed by RAC.. they said fuel pump. was happily driving on motorway.. engine management light came on and car turned off. after that it wouldnt start. tried turning over but wouldnt. RAC guy disconnected something at the front ( some pipe ) and used easy start and when he sprayed that it worked.. as soon as he stopped the car turned off.. i was told ECU and EDU but in the end it was the fuel pump. 9/10 people where im from couldnt do it as it was too big a job apparently. eventually found someone who did it for £250 all in. and that was cheap!
