    different tyres - traction control

    hi
guys, i have read in one of the threads that different tyre size will lead to traction control interfering with the engine
in my case it is 205/50 and 205/55 16s. has this been confirmed?
The car has been on the diagnostica machine and it reports NO FAULTS.
Around the city it is ok, but any faster the traction goes off.

    thanks

if u are running mismatched tyre sizes on each axles then YES this is definitely the reason for the traction cutting in

why on earth are u running mismatched tyres in the first place?

Safer that way than the other.

Swapping front to back, the ABS cuts in early rather than the TC, and that is scary!

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
guys I changed the tyres and it apsolutely made no difference....
up to 80 kmh there is no problem, but as soon as I reach the 80 mark the stupid tc cuts in
once again the computer has not acknowledged any faults
is there a way of taking out the TC
I know that there is no fuse but is there anything that controls the STUPID TC????

    please let me know

Assuming you have the same size tyre on all 4 wheels now then? Are any much older/much more worn than the others?

tyres are NOT the same but they do have similar thread depth
    it is always the same
up to 80 no problem, above that, TC cuts in
how many sensors does my sri have?
only on the front wheels or also on the back? Can they be changed?

You mean they are still not the same size or that they are just not the same make?
