    Sump plug wont budge!!

having a nightmare of a job tryin to remove the sump plug for the engine oil...

used a t45 bit and it snapped the bit at the torx end then decided to try see if it was t40 cuz other ppls t45 wouldnt work but didnt want to put to much pressure on it since the t45 b4 seemed to fit fine..

still im left with it not bin able to move iv given up tonight but i fear that its gonna end up roundin off inside any ideas on how to get this thing out!?

is it a right hand thread or left hand thread? i assumed its just the normal thread. Left loose. so facing the sump from the front of the car looking to wards the exhaust iv bin pulling it in a clockwise direction is this right!?

pretty sure mole grips will just slide off it not that much surface area it was no where near as tight as this last time it was done.

I had the same issue, I tried mole grips, stilsons etc for mine

In the end I dremelled the left and right side (of the big round part of the nut) vertical so I could use a spanner on it, was the only way I could get it off.

I even bought a new sump as I was convinced it would break my existing one.

It has just been over tightened when the oil was last changed. I didn't have to replace my sump in the end, I couldn't be without the car so had to plan for the eventuality.

The only other thing I did was to dremel away as much of the washer as I could to reduce friction. I think mine was a bit extreme though.
