    Urgent rear brakes help

    we have got car in bits at the moment, do the rear callipers need to be twisted CLOCKWISE or ANTI CLOCKWISE to get them back in? been twisting clockwise for ages but they aint getting any smaller, the callipers are LUCAS ones

    Not 100% sure but i thought it was clockwise, also have you let the handbrake off and loosened the cable?

    On the Lucas calipers I think you just need to take the hand brake off.

    Silly question, but are you using a caliper rewind tool? As you need that as they need to be twisted and pushed at the same time I believe. Also, make sure the lid on the brake resivior cap is off

    all sorted now, we didnt have a rewind tool had to use pincers etc, the rear pads were so low that they must have come out that much and come off there thread so they were an arse to get back in

    i did mine with snipe nose pliers it hurt like hell as has been mentione twist and push lol night mare and i ripped off all the paint i had on the calipers lost me temper a lil lol
    grrrrr
