    Z18XE Mk4 Tuning

    I need help!
A friend just gave me a '99 mk4 with the Z18XE engine, I would like to know what is the best way to squeeze as much power from it as possible.
It already has a sports exhaust and I am just about to fit a piper cross open air filter. I would also like to re-map or change the ecu as well.

Can anyone recommend or suggest any ecu's or chips and anything else that I can do to get more power?

    Thanks
    Richard

If its the 99 model it should have the x18xe1 as standard unless it has been changed at some point.

It probably is, the person who gave it to me left it pretty much standard, apart from the exhaust change.

bigger throttle body and taper port it as well/different inlet and exhaust manifolds/ported and flowed airbox/cone filter but these can suffer bad from heat soak/port match inlet and exhaust manifolds/ bigger inside diameter exhaust/ straight though type design centre box and back box/ set timing to match set up if you have a distributor/ported and polished cylinder head/ skim the cylinder head for more compression/decent fully synthetic engine oil/cold air pressure feed to airbox /eg k and n, piper cross, ram air panel filter/different spark plugs/ uprated h t leads eg k 1 nelson, magnacore, / uprated h t coil/ adjustable tps/adjustable fuel pressure regulator/low boost turbo eg upto 6,000 rpm
