    Question Boost controllers

Does anybody on here use either a manual or electronic boost controller on their Z20LET?
If so, is it worth it and whats a safe boost level to adjust to on a fairly standard set up? (3" cat back system and viper induction kit).

    If not, why not?

    Many thanks.

Manual boost controllers are IMHO dangerous...

I have an Electronic boost controller on mine works great...

To run either you will need the car re-mapped as a minimum...

As for safe boost, depends on the spec of you car (turbo, I/C, injectors etc etc)

So generally not recommended for a fairly standard set up then?

Does anyone know what the engine internals etc are good for? I remember by Golf 1.8T being safe for 350BHP as they came standard with forged internals.

    Thanks

consensus seems to be about 300 to 325hp...After that rod bolts, pistons and rods start to be warranted...

This of course depends on whether the turbo, I/C, injectors, fuel pump etc can keep up...
