    Z16LE"X" Crank into a Z20LE"X"

Does anyone know of the smaller 79mm stroke Z16LE crank would fit into a Z20LE series engine?

I am looking to "de-stroke" a Z20 engine to compete in an under 3.0Lt capacity class (Capacity x 1.7 for turbo cars) and need to keep the standard block and head...

I know you can fit a smaller Crank from a older Astra engine but that would make it a 1.8 i think

Using the crank from the old X18XE would take it down to a 1.9 Danny

    86mm Bore & 81.5 Stroke = 1894cc

Why not use the Corsa VXR engine.

1.6 turbo with plenty of tuning potential.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

I thought about that too..The class dictates that I must retain the standard block and head or get a sizeable weight penality. Also, the Corsa VXR isn't sold in Oz so its not strictly eligible. Getting a Z16LER isnlt going to be easy over here either..

The 1.6 SBD crank is 81.5mm stroke, so if I sleeve it down from 86mm to 79mm I might just squeak in, but I think 7mm sleeve will cause all sort of problems...
