Angry Took battery off and opened boot, now its back to front.

    Hay Guys and Girls,

I wanted to try and fix my roof so though that shutting it down and then removing the negative on the battery would help the car remember where the roof was when the battery was reconnected.

Only problem that was the boot was shut, so I had to open it using the key.. So:
CAR LOCKED, PINS DOWN, BOOT UNLOCKED.
The button pushed in and away I went. Sorting the roof out from inside the boot. (well grabbing some tools).

Then I put the battery back on and forgot I opened the boot so:
CAR LOCKED, PINS DOWN, BOOT UNLOCKED.

When I connected the battery and went to get in the car I forgot about the boot. So:
CAR UN-LOCKED, PINS UP, BOOT LOCKED.

Now when the car is unlocked, the boots button is stiff and wont push in but it wont open.

I have to, lock the car, (the button then pushes in, but boot wont open) and then turn the key - I can feel the lock forcing itself round.

Any way to fix this? its driving me crazy!

This isnt gonna sound very technical or helpful but i had this problem that it would only open with the key and even then it felt very odd, i just took the trim off the boot and had a look, was pretty obvious it wasn't sitting properly, i fiddled about with it and got it to sit how it should and all is fine now, vauxhall hadn't put it back together properly when they changed the locks.

Reverse what you have previously done. Lock the car, disconnect the battery etc then lock the boot manually.

    Worth a try

boots normally have to locks on, 1 where the boot will open with the rest of the doors and 1 where no matter how meny doors are unlocked you still need the key to open it, if you know what i mean? put the key in the boot and turn it the other way.
