Possible wrong place...what are your thoughts on?

Sorry if this in the wrong place but I've put it here just because I'm asking for a review rather than advice :-)

Any what are your thoughts on this?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Opel-...1%7C240%3A1318

    Will it be any use?

    Cheers folks

I personally dont rate them - main reason being they are just a code reader and you have to have a laptop with you

i much prefer the simple plug n play jobbies where u can just keep em in ur glovebox and plug it in and within a few seconds u have a fault code - so much easier if u ask me

type in "U380" into ebay for the reader im referring to - or "U480" if u want a one thats capable of reading CANBUS models

Ive got a U380 but tend not to use it much as I have a far more superior one but that cost me £250 so for a cheap n cheerful one id stick with a U380

If u want to see live data and not just read codes then youll need a more complex interface - unfortunately i cant help u on that score

remember theres of course the pedal test to flash the ECU codes up on the dash if ur in doubt

the pedal test?? Would a blow AFM show up as an error code? and would it show up by doing a peddle test?

That's why I was thinking of getting one, I think I've blown my AFM but wanted to be sure it was that before replacing it

yes the pedal test should bring up a 0100 code like it does on mine quite frequently lol

    details here matey: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...78&postcount=2

if it isnt blown - its defo worthwhile having a replacement cos its bound to blow sooner or later

@ GeordieBandit... Cheers pal, I gave that a go and got P0219 which I've just read to be an engine overspeed condition from searching google, so now I'm really buggered, any clues on what that means???

@Lee69... Sorry dude, I thought the title was getting a bit long, my bad :-(

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring
