    Red face handbreak totaly dead!

    after a bit of help, my handbreak has totaly gone, looked in the haynes but it just says about how to tighten, b4 i try that as it seems well past that point is there anything obvious i shud look for under the car?
    since the handbreak started to go my passenger side rear breaks been squeaking alot too, fitted new discs and pads all round a few months ago, didnt adjust n e thing afterwards, could this be why?

    any help appreciated as i have no idear about handbreaks, my first problem with 1. cheers guys in advance!
    now on my 7th vaux and its a van baby!!!

    Has the handbreak snapped or stretched? or just not working right? because i would have thought it would need ajusting if you have fitted new brakes..Also what car is it on ?

    its on a mk4 hatch, pulls all the way to the top with out any resistance at all, haveing to leave it gear all the time other wise it rolls off.
    will have a look to see if the cables ok and then follow the haynes guide to tighten up, cheers

    Could well be the first cable coming off your handbrake arm if there is no resistance at all
