    help with some bass?

    Hi there,

After installing my kenwood HU a few months ago i have noticed i seemed to have lost all the bass that the car originally had (the standard was almost enough for me) Now i have been through all the settings and turned them all up but still nothing.

What can i do to get the bass back as i miss listening to some bass numbers on a spirited drive.

P.S I dont want to install a sub

    Matt

Ive also got a kenwood headunit, but to be honest how much bass do you want from the speakers? On my headunit, i have to press the left spin press button (volume spin button), press it till it displays the bess setting and turn it up., if ur just after bass, turn the treble and mid tones down, so more sound for the bass.

Yer ive tried that but then i lose the treble. The old system was perfect for me in the way of bass and treble but i couldn't connect the ipod to it.

If i change and upgrade the speakers would i really gain more bass? I did like the look of a setup sweeney used to have which was 2 6X9's build into the boot lid and have found the guy to do it but i dont think they would be powerful enough to give me the bass feeling through the boot etc.

I no you don't want a sub, but what about the subs that are designed to go under your seats?
decent sound deadening will improve the mid bass, which might be enough for you, amped upgraded speakers and decent sound deadening should be more than enough for what your after

To go with the post above, you can get slimline subs to go under your seats or any tight fitting places. Either that or some amped components, the SPL range comps are supposed to be bassy.

The Kenwood should give at least as much bass as the OEM head unit did. Are you confident it is all wired correctly?

Yes im sure i've wired it up correctly, done a few HU swaps. now these slimline subs.... what about fitting something like that under the glovebox? but i would want it completley hidden. If i got one for under the seat would that not limite space for rear passengers? Not that i have many in just the odd occasion.

Do you want to put it in the glovebox or under it in the footwell?

    Well,

I dont want it showing in the footwell, is it not possible to buy a slimline sub and fit it with the cone down and the back of the speaker to the glovebox?

    If anyone understands that lol

With a tidy box build you could probably fit a slimline or a 6" sub in the glovebox. Has been done before just search on TA (i'll try and find one now).
