    strange vibration from cold

Did post this on mig but obviously no one knew:S

Also crashed my car today... the bottom wishbone is BENT, and alloy chunked teach me for having a low tyre tread and driving on a wet greased up road eh.

Well after finding out i need a new clutch, EGR valve, and all the cambelt waterpump etc. due. I am curious as to what this noise is when its cold im hearing.

It sounds to be coming from the centre of the car, and is more apparent when cold and when i hit around 2k rpm, like a vibrating. Just want to know what this could be, and whether or not it makes it still worth doing all the work that needs doing really!!

    its a X16SZR MK4 1.6 8V Astra Covered 150k

Almost sounds like a scoob!!.. it has a pipercross induction kit on it, but i wouldnt say its that making the noise im not giving it enough throttle.

Anyways.. over to the experts.. see if u can actually hear what i mean!

new clutch, EGR valve, and all the cambelt waterpump etc. you need to find out how much these parts are first and how much to have them fitted if you can not do these your self and the same with the wish bone that is bent then make your mind up, you could get your ally wheel refurbed
could the vibrating be a loose heat shield or some thing similar could not hear it on the u tube vid

Is the filter the only mod you have done !

And on the vid after 6 mile trip the temp gauge isnt reading off bottom is that not working ?

I can hear sumthing but with out actually being there its difficult to know the exact sound.

When you say middle of the car do you mean middle of engine bay or middle of whole car ?

Only thing i could think of is heat shield but then it would vibrate all the time.

Unless your exhaust is blowing and when the exhaust gets warm it expands and closes the gap.

The exhaust is blowing... so perhaps thats the issue.
I mean it seems most obvious if you sit inside with the doors shut you can hear it almost coming from the centre console.

Ive just got the wishbone changed today, it was a mess had to cut it out, got a new tyre, balanced the wheel, tracked it. Just bad cosmetic damage on the wheel.

Ive got all the parts ready to do the cambelt, waterpump, thermostat, etc.

The reason my temp gauge is still that low is because of thermostat

Ah i see, get the belt etc done then see where the exhaust is blowing and what you will need or can do about it.
