    Angry ECU may be buggered?

Took my zaf to garage today because the light on dash came up and the codes i got were for the co2 sensor and the throttle pedal but the bloke rekons it could be a faulty ECu and has said that it will cost £90 to check it and around £800 for a new ecu if it is that.

    Does that sound right?

    God i hope not

What was his reason for saying that it might me a faulty ECU instead of the said given faults. Me I would be trying to rectify the faults that have been idenified i.e. the Lambda sensor and the TP Sensor.

It's a bit of a leap from a knackered O2 sensor (reasonably common) and a throttle position sensor, to a knackered ECU!!

Did he have pound signs rolling in his eyeballs as he said it? Or possibly a comedy "kerching!!" sound effect in the back ground??

typical garage thing to say, they get the car in and fit new ecu, then they blame other components that did not show up until the ecu is chaged, generally when an ecu dies the car will not run

investigate the O2 code but bear in mind that may be showing due to oil, water, air leak or sparks etc

got a 1.8 mate should i get the ecu tested? because its either taht or get the other problems fixed (the co2 n throttle sensor) or you know where i can test it for cheaper as its running horribly jerks to f**k in every gear and sometimes my foot is to the metal (lol) and dont get any acceleration just as i got her looking nice too
