    Pot holes :(

I hope this is in the right section.

A couple weeks ago I was driving along a country lane in the dark, I did see this pot hole but I honestly didn't think it was that deep. By the time I'd seen it, couldn't really swerve anywhere unless it was into a hedge, as the road was quite narrow.
So I went through it and came out with a buckled wheel :O
So I took it to this tyre shop and 2 weeks later I've finally got it back, luckilly they've managed to put it back into shape.
So do you think there is point in complaining to the council, if thats the people who i tell? I just don't think its fair that we all pay road tax, which is quite high anyway just to get a buckled wheel .

Has this happened to anyone else before?

If youve got photos of the damage and the pothole then get a claim in to the council. if you havent theyll most likely not pay out (worth a try though)

I dont think councils tend to worry about country lanes they have enought trouble with the main roads

I had a similar experience, tho i didnt get a buckled wheel, wrote to my local council and told them where the pothole was, and enclosed the bill for wheel alignment, they coughed up a cheque without asking for photos. So def give them a ring and see.

    Could've guessed lol.
If its the same as every other helpline call centre thingy you ring I'll be trying to get through for hours, played a whole cd down the phone and put through to 20 different departments. Just to be told they won't be doing anything about it.

Hope you get sorted! Definitely crap that you've ended up with a buckled wheel because of council shortcomings... boo!
