Funny suspension noise and no its not droplinks

I have this funny creaking clunky noise that happens when i try and get off my drive and also pulling into parking bays. its fine during road driving just at barely moving when it creaks and clunks and is driving me crazy!!!

I have just had coilovers fitted and the noise started since then. I have just alst week replaced the droplinks but this has not helped.

My mechanic seems to think it can be wishbone bushes or ball joints. The noise is coming from both sides of the front of the car.

    Cheers for any help

    Matt

Have you put the bearings onto the coilovers?

You have to take the bearings off the top of the old struts and put on the top on the coilovers. Other wise when you turn at slow speeds the springs don't turn in a nice smooth movement they snap round causing a clucking noise at slow speed. Well mine did cos I forgot to put them on as others have too.

As above, likely to be this, apparently lots of people think its ok to leave the bearing out, which it isnt.

How hard to fit them if they are not fitted? I will check my old suspension as i still have it in the shed. What do they look like?

You can bet your bottom dollar this is the problem. On the old strut the bearing is encased in a rubber surround which you need to prise apart (it's not hard, just pop it out), you are then left with the bearing which needs to go on your new coilovers.

right cool, will check when im in if they are still there, Also i take it the bearing is fitted on the underside of the turret? in otherwords can anyone give me the order in which they need to be? Can it be dangerous not having it fitted?

This is a diagram of what order the bearing etc should go (courtesy of Fred666).
Best to get it sorted a.s.a.p in my opinion.
    Hope this helps
