    Exhaust noise

    Hi all.
Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a mild muffled noise coming from the exhaust.
Today it seemed a little more obvious so I got out and stood at the back.
It sounds like it is louder at the back and when I drove into the car park at work a colleague said it sounded like my exhaust was blowing.
How can I check if this is the case?
I am worried as have a long drive on friday and could do without any dramas.
Is this likely to cost much?
    Thanks,
    Al

Make sure the exhaust is cold, , start the car up and get a mate to clasp their hand over the tailpipe for a few seconds, pressing hard to effectively seal the end. Have a look underneath at this point, and escaping gases will become more prominent at this point and you can locate any leaks.

    Hi, thanks,
Tried it just now and no evidence of escaping gas.
    The cloth was dry too.
