So how was your day then, mine was er poor!
The plan for today was this:
Fit new brakes front and rear on my dad astra
new rears on mine
oil and filter change on both
cambelt on dads
clean egr valve manifold flaps and boost sensor on mine
clean polish clay etc mine
fit FMIC on buckles coupe!
However things didnt quite go according to plan!!
First port of call was to get some more brake fluid as didnt have enough!
Then the cambelt and water pump were to be fitted with a break in the middle for several bacon, egg and mushroom sarnies!! Several photos will follow up soon of the copius amounts of HP sauce jon put onto his lol!!
After the cambelt finaly got on, we went about with the front brakes on my dads, a short visit fristly from macka top place , and a bit later a stop off from Bertone Ben also followed!
After lunch (two lursh helpings of Spag bol!) lol
we cracked on finishing front brakes! Then jon went off to remove EGR Valve as me and buckle wnet about doing the rears!
It was at this point it went a bit pete tong!
First jon came over and had snapped part of the egr valve off! Afte going ah well Shit happens lol, me and buckle carried on with the rears at which point RizoMK1 (jon) came over and said he owed me money! Thinking he was joking me and buckle laughed our heads of and went with it, then we saw his face, going over to the car we saw he had fractured the inlet manifold quite spectacurlarly, though he had been using a coal chisel and hammer! HAHA
The next 40mins consisted of us frantically searching for a new inlet manifold but to no avail! (An all nighter came up at this point going from swindon to Newcastle, but seller wouldnt comply lol)
Anyways a load of JB Weld on the fracture helped although a knackered EGR Valve means that the car wont come out of Limp mode so i have no car for a week now as jons searching for a new manifold and egr valve to fit next week!
Oh yes buckle has pics, but for revenge for the practical jokes played on us two we got one of him! Enjoylol
